Das Bild ist futsch!

At river Inn in Switzerland rarely 20 miles away from the austrian border is in my eyes the finest part of the Inn. The difficult sectors in the Giarsun-canon came shortly one after the nother stealing your breath by the beauty of this nature.

The DKV-Kanuguide about this part of the river:

mile71,8-76,3 (Giarsun-canon) WW III-IV

Giarsun-canon! Total lonely rocky canon with partly heavy narrow passages, vertical steps and speedy waves, 2 parts sould be explored by eyes first. At the beginning no heavy duties, from time to time the difficulties expand.

72,9 right hand a brook runns in. Beginning of the canon. First heavy step (Preußen-Schleuder) visible from the left bank to the middle of the river higher is a big plate of rock. S-corner, narrow fall, WW IV+, hardest part of this canon.

Following some long lasting, rocky waves. After giant single rock, who pikes in the river from the right side. You have to see the following double step WW IV+ bevor driving it. Mostly you could do it on the left.

75,8 left massive wall on the bank, short after that get out of the river on the right and see the last vertical zone. Trees may blocking the way which must be avoided.

76,3 bridge of Ardez, befor reaching it end your trip on the right side of the river.

The Ardez-canon WW V-VI is the next part of the Inn. Most difficult parts and often there are trees in the river! Alpine climbing equipment is nessacary! Complicate climbing at the undriveable passages with boats on the rope makes this part extrem hard!

I see some foolly groups diving in there.
